Tom Gallo resides in Raleigh, NC and attended both the Philadelphia College of Art and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  His  work has gained popularity throughout the country for its historic and military authenticity and detail as well as his spirited collegiate sports themes.   Tom has recently been commissioned to create several life-size bronze sculptures in South Carolina including the Richard Rowland Kirkland Memorial at Camden, SC.  His work has been featured at Gettysburg and other National Civil War Battlefield Parks, Patriot's Point Naval and Maritime Museum, The Friends of the Hunley, as well as Virginia Military Institute, Washington & Lee University, Virginia Tech, The University of South Carolina and other major universities. Tom began publishing his collegiate sports art while attending UNC-CH, where his mascot and football themes became a fan favorite throughout the region. His military images sprang from a life-long love of American history, where he drew his inspiration not only from such military giants as Washington, Jackson, Lee and Grant but from the courage and devotion of America’s citizen-soldiers on whose shoulders the burden of liberty has always been carried.

“The Veteran” is a tribute to these every-day Americans whose unselfishness and that of their families has sustained us all throughout this uniquely American journey in which we are all so blessed to share.
